Richard N. Read

Richard N. Read was employed as the second cashier at Washington National Bank from 1876 to 1886. He served two terms as auditor and twice as the sheriff of Daviess County. From 1870 to 1872 he served as the Worshipful Master at Charity Lodge No. 30, Free and Accepted Masons in Washington, Indiana.

His first wife, Julia Ann Bradford, whom he married on March 24, 1864, died in 1873. He married Laura Adelia Tempey (1835-1925) on October 24, 1878. He had four children:  Etta, George, John, and Louis.
